Disaster City
Disaster City is an inaccurate tornado simulator I made for the GMTK Game Jam 2023. The theme was “Role Reversal”, and I decided to go for a simple reversal of a city builder game like SimCity - instead of building the city, you’re destroying it!
Initially I was going to add multiple disasters and make it a sort of strategy game where you used your limited resources to destroy everything. I quickly realized that wasn’t feasible for me to make within 2 days, so I limited myself to one disaster for now (the tornado) and ended up with a sort of windy Katamari clone.
The controls are basic: WASD to move around. The tornado gets smaller over time, and gets bigger each time you hit a building. Destroy all the buildings before the tornado disappears to win.

love the art style, and gameplay is so chaotic but the tornado is hard to control and it jumps around on the screen a lot
I liked this, it's original and fun. However I think it could be better if the tornado was mouse driven: it's very hard to control with the arrow keys.
